Open redream, and choose “Continue in Lite Mode” or upgrade to Premium if you’d like. Premium allows upscaling, so if you’re using a powerful device, it would be worth the purchase.
Adding Games
From the home screen, click Go to Library and then Add Directory. Navigate to your Dreamcast ROM directory. For obvious legal reasons, I can’t point you towards where ROMS are, but a good start would be Reddit and the ROMS subreddit.
Head to the GAMES tab at the top and you should see all of your games listed.
Configuring Controller
Head to the INPUT tab at the top and then select Port A.
In some cases, it may automatically have assigned all the correct buttons already, but if not, you can go through and map each button.
Simply select the button you want to map, and then push the corresponding button on your controller. Feel free to skip Turbo or Show VMU if you run out of buttons.
Graphic Settings
Head to the VIDEO tab at the top.
On this page, you can change the resolution, if you are using Premium and want to upscale the game.
You can change the Aspect ratio, but I would suggest keeping it at the default 4:3 to prevent stretching.
Frame skip is enabled by default, and if you have a powerful device, you can attempt disabling it for more accurate performance.
Remove on-screen controls
Open a game by selecting it and tapping it with your finger, or using the controller to select it.
You’ll see on-screen touch controls are on by default. At the top right, you should see three dots, tap them.
Head to the INPUT tab, select Port A which says touchpad, and then change Input device to your controller.
Head to the NOW PLAYING tab and select RESUME GAME to continue playing.
Per-game options
If you want to make changes on a per-game basis (maybe you want to upscale a specific game, or change the controller configuration and more).
When you’re in the game, open the in-game menu via the three buttons top right or if you mapped the Main menu button, push it.
At the bottom, you should see CUSTOM CONFIG and you can enable it to ON.
Go ahead and make any changes you want now and the settings will save for this specific game only.
