Adding Game Path

Open CEMU, and the first thing we need to do is tell it where our Wii U games are located.

Open Settings top right, General settings and you want to select Add game path.

Click the Plus icon on the right, and navigate to the folder that has your Wii U games and choose USE THIS FOLDER on the bottom.

Note: Your Wii U games should be in the .WUA format. You can learn more here: https://joeysretrohandhelds.com/guides/recommended-file-types-for-roms/.

Input settings

Open Settings top right, Input Settings, Input overlay settings and you want to disable Input overlay to remove the on-screen touch controls.

Head back a screen, and this time go to Controller 1.

Select the Emulated controller and you now need to choose which type of controller you want to emulate.

Note: This is important. Generally, you want to use the Wii U Pro Controller, however, some games required the use of the GamePad. The problem, however, is that right now you cannot set a controller on a per-game basis, so whatever you choose here, is used for every game, and if you want to change it for a specific game, it will reset the controls you map. CEMU is early beta right now, this will improve.

Choose Wii U Pro Controller, and then map the controls you see on-screen to your device.

Graphic packs

Note: Only do this step if you’ve added your game paths and your games have shown up, otherwise nothing will show here.

Open Settings top right, Graphic packs, and you want to select the Download icon top right.

This will download all the compatibility or graphic packs for all of your games.

If you choose a game in the list, you can see options for Cheats, Enhancements, Graphics, Mods, Workarounds and more depending on the game and what’s available.

It will be up to you and personal preference on if you want to enable some of those features.

Playing games

From the home screen, tap or select a game to start playing and enjoy!

To exit a game, currently you have to use gestures or the 3 button navigation menu on Android (by swiping up and choosing the back arrow), then selecting Exit.
