Emulators – Android
RetroArch – Android
- Saves are located within the RetroArch/saves folder.
- States are located within the RetroArch/states folder.
- For Android devices, this would be on your internal storage.
AetherSX2/NetherSX2 – Android
- Saves and states are located in the internal storage, Android, Data, xyz.aethersx2.android, files folder.
- Saves are in the memcards folder, states are in the sstates folder.
- Because of permissions issues, these are inaccessible in most Android apps (FolderSync is an exception), to export saves and states from AetherSX2, you need to open AetherSX2, select the menu top left, and use the Transfer Data option.
Citra Canary – Android
- When you first install Citra, it asks you to create a folder for all of its settings. The saves would be inside of it.
- The path afterwards is /sdmc/Nintendo 3DS/00000000000000000000000000000000/00000000000000000000000000000000/title/
DraStic – Android
- By default, DraStic will store saves and states behind Android’s scoped storage unless you change a setting
- To get access to your saves and states, you want to head to Change Options > General > System Directory > Scoped Storage Folder and create a folder on your internal storage or SD card called “Drastic” without the quotes. Then select Use This Folder. Restart Drastic.
- When Drastic opens again, it’ll tell you it’s going to do a System Migration, click OK. It’ll ask you if you want to delete the source data after it copies it, you can click yes or no (I typically click yes, I’ve never seen it fail).
- Now, if you head to that Drastic folder that you created on your internal storage or SD card, you will see a folder called backup and your saves will be in there.
Dolphin (Official) – Android
- Saves and states are located in the internal storage, Android, Data, com.dolphinemu.dolphinemu (or org.dolphinemu.dolphinemu), files folder.
- Saves for GameCube are in the GC folder, then your region. Saves for Wii are in the Wii, title folder.
- States are in the StateSaves folder.
- Because of permissions issues, these are inaccessible in most Android apps (FolderSync is an exception), to export saves and states from Dolphin, you need to open Dolphin, select the settings cog top right, Config, User Data, and use the Export User Data option.
MelonDS – Android
- Saves and states by default are located in the same folder as the ROM folder you selected, right next to the game file.
M64Plus FZ – Android
- Saves and states by default are hidden due to Android’s scoped storage. You have two options.
- First, you can head to Tools, Import/Export Data, Export Game Data and when you export, you’ll have your saves inside.
- However, the better option is to head to Settings, Data, and change Game Data Storage Location to External. Then, set External Game Data Location to a folder on your device or SD card, you can call the folder M64Plus. Now, all your saves and settings will be easily accessible by any file manager or syncing app.
PPSSPP – Android
- When you first install PPSSPP, it asks you to create a folder for all of its settings. The saves and states would be inside of it.
- The path afterwards is /PSP/SAVEDATA/ for saves and /PSP/PPSSPP_STATE/ for states.
Vita3K – Android
- Saves are located in the internal storage, Android, Data, org.vita3k.emulator, files, Vita, ux0, user, 00, savedata folder.
- Because of permissions issues, these are inaccessible in most Android apps (FolderSync is an exception). You can attempt to overwrite or backup, but it may not work.
Yuzu – Android
- Saves are located in the internal storage, Android, Data, org.yuzu.yuzu_emu, files, nand, user, save, 000000000000000, xxx, game title id folder.
- Because of permissions issues, these are inaccessible in most Android apps (FolderSync is an exception), to export saves and states from Yuzu, you need to open Yuzu, select the settings cog top left, Manage yuzu data, Manage save data – either import or export button.
This is a nice idea. Could Drastic be added to the Android section?
Also, could Rocknix be added to the Linux custom firmware section, its becoming a more important CFW (devices that Arkos won’t support are supported by Rocknix)
Drastic has been added!
Unfortunately, I do not use ROCKNIX – if you can share where the saves and states are, I’m happy to update the list with it!
